Simple question. I'm completely new to Linux (Mint) and am wondering how to open/run a file that has been installed.
I have downloaded and installed a file (visualboyadvance), it is present in the "Installed Applications" menu in Software Manager. Double clicking on the file does nothing, nor does right clicking. It is not present in my downloads folder. I am wondering what must be done in order to actually run this file.

G'day ojdongle, Welcome to Linux.org

Tell us which version of Linux Mint you are running, please.
(LM19 /....LM 20.1??...)

Click on menu
type in Software Manager

click on that to open it

In the box in the top right hand corner...type.... mGBA

You will then see.....(below)
mGBA.png

Install that and tell us how it goes.

visualboyadvance is apparently outdated etc.....when you right click it, is there an option to uninstall it?.....if there is , do that.

Thank you for the help.
Visualboy advance m was seemingly out of date. MGBA had an install button which I clicked after installing. I am running Mint v20.2

It does the job properly?
