Can anyone tell me how to install my Laserjet 4L printer? New to Linux ( Mint 17.1 ) and struggling with all the TLA's etc. And I'm old!

Get the driver from here: https://www.openprinting.org/printer/HP/HP-LaserJet_4L
Check out the CUPS page on the same site which should help you:
http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/database/cupsdocumentation

Then open: http://localhost:631/admin and take it from there. You may have to login in as root from the login screen on the browser.
