Solved I can't type password in terminal

hi! I just want to ask why I can type username but password can't? any idea why?

It is entirely possible the password is invisible

Try typing in the exact password and then hitting enter

the password is not shown as you type nor is any indication that you are typing. Not a great feature but trust me you are entering the password. When you press enter after typing it correctly you will see.

By default, Ubuntu doesn't show anything when you type passwords in the terminal. They made this decision for security reasons. Shoulder-surfing is a thing.

If you're uncomfortable with this feature (considered a security feature by not showing how many characters you typed and not recorded by a screen capture) then you can make it show asterisks when you type the password.

As others have said...when you type your password it's not shown...

When you hit Enter...you'll see the command work..as above.
Some commands don't require a password but many do.

yes. but still can't log in.

what I meant was , if your password is all lower case, then caps lock needs to be OFF

Just to be clear, having capslock accidentally on is one of the primary reasons that passwords fail to work

If this does not help, reboot your pc and try again.

How sure are you that the password you are using is correct. Is the password the same as your login password? Try typing it on a blank email or similar to make sure the caps lock key isn't sticking

May be silly but make sure your keyboard is actually plugged in. Reseat the the cable...
