Hello everyone.

I'm currently working with Oracle E-Business Suite on Linux and encountering issues with configuring Java 8 and GUI functionalities. The web application relies on Java 8 to read XML scripts and .bin files, and it creates an interactive interface. On Windows, the setup is straightforward, but on Linux, I'm facing challenges. I have already installed Java 8 and Wine, and the Oracle web application runs fine on Firefox. However, I'm unable to read and execute the XML scripts or .bin files, and I'm struggling with implementing the GUI using JavaFX. Are there any alternative options available for running Oracle E-Business Suite on Linux, or is there a specific approach that developers should take to address these challenges?

Thank you for your help!

Sounds like you're setting it up for a company, hire someone to do it for you?

Hello @CarolaL,
Welcome to Linux.org forum.
Which Linux distro are you using?
If your not already using Oracle Linux you may want to take a look at that.
Im using ubuntu 22.04 LT. Its the one that the directive wants.
