Huge Mint fan here.
I experienced screen tearing issues after waking up my computer from sleep. Then, as a solution, I was trying to install proprietary nvidia drivers in my LMDE 5 setup and so far, everything I tried was a fail.
First I tried to install drivers from synaptcs.
Then, tried downloading and installing official drivers from Nvidia.
Then, tried to install Drivers Manager which isn't included in LMDE 5 (I visited Linux Mint Github page, but I couldn't find how to install Drivers Manager on LMDE)
Now I am ready to apply for the closest mental asylum after three sleepless nights figuring out how to install proprietary drivers on linux.
It is very is to install drivers on normal Linux Mint because of Drivers Manager, but for some reason, but it has not been included in LMDE which is a bummer. I love the idea behind LMDE, so can someone guide me to how to install these drivers? TIA
Then I added Buster repositories
and updated the system.
If it helps,

Code:
$ nvidia-detect
Detected NVIDIA GPUs:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [GeForce 210] [10de:0a65] (rev a2)
Checking card: NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [GeForce 210] (rev a2)
Your card is only supported by the 340 legacy drivers series, which is only available up to buster.
Then I added Buster repositories
Code:
sudo vim /etc/apt/sources.list
and updated the system.
If it helps,
Code:
$ inxi -r
Repos:
