Is it correct to say that CentOS originated from RedHat or is a fork of RedHat?

Quote - "RedHat Linux was one of the most popular Linux based operating systems until 2004, when it was discontinued. However, Red Hat now (after 2004) develops a commercial version of Red Hat called Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). CentOS is a free Linux based operating system, which is directly based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux." - www.differencebetween.com

Centos is the free version of Red Hat.

Thank goodness for a free enterprise class distribution.

Years ago I ran CentOS and it was very stable.

RH Server subscription starts at $349.00 dollars!
