So I got a cheap PC untill I can get a real PC . $100.00 for the HP Prodesk 600 G2 i5 . Its UEFI Hardwired to windows so I dual booted and now its rejecting the Linux Mint.
I just upgraded tge hard drive 1TB and 32 ram . Runs great in windows but Mint is all discolored so thats new.

Very similar to my HP ProDesk 400.g2.SFF which I got 2 years ago, runs fine with mint 21

UEFI SecureBoot disable may do the trick I just need to figure out how lol!

I didn't have to do that with mine [but it is a year or so older than yours] sound was the only problem I had in setting up.

Im also having issues with sound I used core boot for my chromebook maybe I need it again....

I cheated in my workshop, I had a C-Media Audio Adapter (Unitek Y-247A) type: USB sound adaptor [only a cheap one but works fine]
My 400g2 cost £80 inc next day delivery, but it was virus infested..yes it was preinstalled with Windows 10 :D

both fresh installs Linux and windows

W10 didn't last a week on mine before it got completely removed.

I'm using an i9 in my system runs fine but probably not better than an i7 just different, from what I read about i7 vs i9 you won't notice the difference.

I have just come to terms that Linux just doesn't coexist with this HP computer. I did how ever find a how to debloat windows video and it literally shuts like 300 things down before the main script goes in .
Admin power shell ISE

Depends on the use case. An i5 is good for low-mid level games/graphics. The i7 is good for mid-high level games/graphics. Or you could go for the i9 which is slightly overkill for most users.

Microcenter Had a sale on Ssd and I went bonkers lol!
Now got 3 TB two are glued under my PC shelf lol

I am going to have to re-read this Thread, it looks extraordinarily interesting :)

I have had Linux on an HP no problems, but have not so far found a better home for Linux than a Dell.
