I really love GIMP, i used it to make a book a couple years ago and it's just great software, so naturally i was dissapointed. I installed it by typing

Code:
sudo dnf install gimp

the terminal behaved like everything was going smoothly with y/N questions etc., but then when clicked on the shortcut i got some error saying that the libraries we're not updated to the newest version (4.?.?, not literally but it was something like that...), then today when i tried installing it through the software app i was able to use it. Still works.

Good time to take a Timeshift snapshot.

Is your Fedora on the EXT4 or the Butter FS (BTRFS)?

unfortunately i didn't have that, but i just checked history and it was one of the first things i did after installation because i'm passionate about gimp, i've been using it for forums recently:

Code:
5 sudo dnf install gimp

More or less just a lucky guess in installing it through the terminal, but failed like i said, it was an outdated version without the matching libraries required. Installing through Software app in fedora makes it work the way it normally does
