First of all I'm new so limited understanding to any suggestions given, but appreciate all help offered.
Secondly is it even worth trying to put Kali Linux onto my old S5, or is it simply too old and not powerful enough?
Having rooted my phone, or believedly rooted my phone I'm not 100% sure I did it correctly, I installed Linux Deploy through the play store, from here looking at multiple bits of information, I'm not sure where I'm supposed to be putting the source and installtion paths.
Currently I have under BOOTSTRAP:
Containerization method: chroot
Distribution: Kali Linux
Architecture: armhf
Distribution suite: kali-rolling
Source path: http://http.kali.org/kali/
Installation path: ${ENV_DIR}/rootfs/linux
Image size (MB): Automatic calculation(greyed out)
File system: ext4 (greyed out)
User name:
User Password:
Priviledged users: root
DNS: Automatic detection
Localization: POSIX
Believing this to be correct I attempted to install getting,
>>> deploy
<<< deploy
and just for fun trying the Start button I got,
>>> start
Missing parameters: TARGET_PATH
<<< start
sorry for the long post I just wanted to give as much info as possible.
