In the Settings Manager I turned off "lock the computer when the screensaver starts" and turned off "lock the computer when put to sleep". Sliding the button to the off button with the mouse worked.lots of confusion in the middle of the thread (for me).....
So, in the end.... what "fixed" it ?
Thank heavens for small merciesI never did have to read through the Xorg log file or change any of the strings in it.
