Lubuntu 11.10

Well I have a fast running copy of Linux now on my Toshiba Satellite. Unfortunately, I have encountered performance issues with the original Ubuntu. I guess it was due to my systems bios which is very sensitive. The Mac OS PC trick will work in terms of power but will never be able to because of the bios type and the way the boot selection is setup. Lubuntu however with it's different code and optimization boots normal and runs great.

I highly reccomend Lubuntu to anyone encountering issues all the features of Ubuntu aren't all included but easily available for installation.

I also experienced severe performance issues when I put Ubuntu 11.10 on my Dell Inspirion 11.10. Might have a look into Lubuntu as suggested.
