Hi, I am in the process of setting up Fedora Server 31.
The install created a volume group called fedora_vg1.

vgdisplay shows that the vg has: Free PE / Size 233439 / 911.87 GiB

When I want to create a 100G logical volume I run this command:
lvcreate -L 100G -n lvdata1 fedora_vg1
This is the return:
Couldn't create temporary archive name.

I don't understand what the issue is. There is plenty of free space in the volume group. Also, I am not trying to create a temporary archive!

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Hi binWondrin:
step:1
Please
check /etc/lvm/lvm.conf file
in that archive=1 and archive_dir = "/etc/lvm/archive"
Step:2
Permissions of the path of /etc/lvm
Step:3
Verify the disk usage of [ / ] file system using df -h

Let me know if everything is ok

Thanks guys. I could kick myself!!
I had filled the / up with a backup from my workstation. There was no space left on the root volume!
Now everything works just fine.
Sorry to waste your time.
