Menu Driven Script

Hello, I have a script that was an existing script that parses certain files and displays them already formatted. However, it prints everything out all at once. I would like to update the script with a menu that allows you to select which files to parse by selecting a number. Attached is the code I have. I am not sure where to start as the script does not fully it down in many fucntions. I need some direction on this. Any help would be appreciated.

Some of the first ideas that I get are

1. Use some kind of a scripting GUI like Zenity, Kdialog, etc.
2. Use CASE constructs (http://askubuntu.com/questions/1705/how-can-i-create-a-select-menu-in-a-shell-script)
3. Use a different programming language

I personally recommend using CASE constructs.

Yeah, the Kdialog checklist would work well.
