Hello peeps. I have failed to connect my Linux laptop to mirror the video content on my LG smart TV. I don't seem to be able to get miracast feature in Linux, but I paired my Samsung tablet with the TV without any difficulties whatsoever.
I think I got chromecast in Ubuntu 20.04.6 (that was a long process, about a week ago and my memory is merciful), but my TV doesn't support Chromecast and I would need to buy the device and run it via Chrome, which I don't desire.
Is there a Miracast function in either LMDE or Ubuntu? Or is there a plan to develop a program for this functionality to install so I didn't need to rely on the tablet only?
I have played video from LMDE via HDMI cable, but I would prefer it wirelessly. And I couldn't get rid of a small red rectangle in the top left corner of the screen during streaming via HDMI.
TIA!
