Mod folder in Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ProtonSteamplay)

I ended up choosing to use the proton version for the Euro Truck Simulator, which is largely due to the much higher performance of the Steam runtime (OpenGL) version.

But I had a surprise I didn't find the mod folder, which in the case of the steam runtime is in this directory:
/.local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2 / mod

In the case of the Windows version, it is in this directory:
My Documents/ Euro Truck Simulator 2 / mod

In that case where I could this folder using the proton version.

Hello,

In case you're still struggling with this, the mod folder for proton version is under the following path:
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/227300/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod

I'm fairly sure that 227300 is something related to my steam id, so you would have a different path.

Hope this helps someone else that gets here through search engines.
