Hi all,
1. I have a requirement to change the monitor refresh rate in real-time, possibly frequently/periodically!
2. How much approx. time does it take to execute xrandr to achieve the requested refresh rate?
Host specs: 16gb ram; nvidia nvs
310 512mb gpu; intel i7-6700 processor.
Thanks in advance!

Executing xrandr only takes a couple seconds. But why would you want to change your refresh rate more than once? Your monitor is setup to use 1 rate. Are you going to be swapping monitors 'frequently/periodically'? If you're just swapping between your built in laptop monitor and an external one, the OS will handle that after your initial configuration of the 2. Most external monitors run at 60hz anyway, so you shouldn't need to reconfigure it if you have multiple external monitors that you use.

It is required to synchronize the monitor display so as to ensure that the image transition doesn't happen at the required time from the sync.
