mp4s.org have spyware/virus?

Has any one used mp4s.org? Too me it look too good to be true.
 


This is *not* a reprimand. It's just a simple reminder. We have a 'no piracy' policy here (for obvious reasons). That tool could be used for piracy. But, it's just a tool. You could just as easily use it to download legitimate content as you could to pirate videos.

So, I'm merely making sure we're on the same page.

Finally, no... No threat there. At most, you download an MP4. There are no known vulnerabilities within MP4 files, as far as I can tell.

The website itself might try to inject something, but a simple ad blocking utility should take care of that. Also, anything they'd try to inject would be for Windows machines and your browser almost certainly runs as its own isolated process with AppArmor or SELinux. So, it's not really a risk for you. It nothing else, unless you're running the browser as root (which would be really silly), anything it did have for a payload would be hard pressed to cause any harm.

Which is to say, you'll be fine. Download away!
