mpow dongle need to install software

vrai
don't have checkinstall
from #
apt-get install checkinstall

ok got checkinstall
so this makes & checks .....correct?
in a single step

After you have extracted the drivers look for 2 files - I am assuming the model of your MPOW is a BH456A if it is a different model then the files will be a little different but should begin the same rtl****_fw.bin and rtl*****_config.bin

rtl8761b_fw.bin and rtl8761b_config.bin

these are the only 2 you need they are to go into the folder located at

/lib/firmware/rtl_bt/

Reboot your MPOW should get detected

Lord
in the

rtlbt subdirectory

the files you mention are not there.
these two files are there:

rtl8761b_fw
rtl8761b_config

but void of the .bin extension

Bj

The .bin you do not see is only visible if show hiiden is check you need to copy those 2 files into the folder from my post above then reboot

i understand i am to copy two files /lib/firmware/rtl_bt/
i don't understand which files to copy
the ones with no .bin extension OR the files in your post that i do not see! cause i do not see any files with the .bin extension

also do i need to super #
also can i use the mv command or do i need to use the cp command

Yes the one you downloaded .bin and yes on the sudo

Lord

code

sudo cp rtl8761b_fw /lib/firmware/rtl_bt/
sudo cp rtl8761b_config /lib/firmware/rtl_bt/
reboot

cd /lib/firmware/rtl_bt/
both files are in the sub directory
these two files are the only files in the directory with NO .bin extension

No blue light

Bj
what is the output of
Code:
lsusb

also you have to add the .bin extension to both files - so it should be rtl8761b_fw.bin

you will have to sudo that or open it root to add the .bin name to both files and save it then reboot once again

If it still does not work it is possible that chipset not supported in your kernel version, might want to upgrade to 5.10 or higher see here - https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/rtl8761b-fw/
