Multiple Distro's

Is it possible to install another distro and keep/use the existing home folder that's already installed in the first distro? Dumb question, but a dumb one is one that's never asked.

Yes, you may have multiple distros installed (this is called multibooting). Each system will have its own home, unless you would like to set it up to share /home/.

Yes. Just keep the /home partition intact and do not format it when installing the new distro. Or are you speaking of sharing a /home between two different distros?
If the latter, it can be done by altering the /etc/fstab configuration file, but distros should be of a similar or same families (i.e. Debian/ubuntu) I would think.
