G'day @Greg Baker and welcome to linux.org :)

You are either using Ubuntu or you are using Linux Mint 19.0 'Tara', Mint is based on Ubuntu, but a bit different.

1. Go to Menu and start to type in "welcome" without the quotes.

Tell us exactly what the popup window says, right down to "Cinnamon, MATE (or) Xfce".

2. Go to Terminal (shortcut Ctrl-Alt-t) and type in and enter

Code:
dpkg --print-architecture

and tell us what that says.

3. Are you using Google Earth?

I am using Tara 19 with g Earth and POL. The I386 architecture seems to be causing this or I need to install the POL certificate which I have but dunno where to shove it. Sorry for me stupidity yesters. Its me girl friends computer and she likes the ease o the O.P. but I do the haha updates etc. Any elp would be appreciated. Oh the COmputes is a HP 64 bit AMD Proc with 128 meg O ram
