Today,7th March 2022, security researcher Max Kellermann responsibly disclosed the 'Dirty Pipe' vulnerability and stated that it affects Linux Kernel 5.8 and later versions, even on Android devices.
While no OS will ever be perfect, and there are ways to protect yourself from these attacks, its strange to spend the last several months hearing about Linux being attacked with some kind of virus. Is there a reason for all of this?
