We had a power outage. Now bodhi on my Acer desktop does not boot. I get a screen telling me to insert a bootable cd. I could easily reinstall, but I would lose many files. Have used Linux for 15 years, but I am not very computer savvy. Please point me in the right direction.

G'day Joe and welcome to linux.org, albeit under difficult circumstances. :):(

1. Is there another operating system on the Acer, if so, what?

2. Or do you still have a bootable USB stick or DVD with Bodhi Live on it?

I am thinking about whether you can identify the data needing to be saved, and move it elsewhere, then re-install and then replace the data.

Although I run about 90 Distros, my experience with Bodhi is limited to maybe a month maybe 4 years ago, but if you tell me the version, I could put it on this weekend and take a look at some of the options.

Cheers
