Hello Linux.org community,
I'm here because I've just installed Kubuntu on my laptop for use with Steam and a few games.
The installation went well, but my problem is with the updates.
There's only one package that won't install: linux-image-6.8.0-48-generic.
I get the following error message:
Error while installing package: cannot copy extracted data for './boot/vmlinuz-6.8.0-48-generic' to '/boot/vmlinuz-6.8.0-48-generic.dpkg-new'
In the meantime, I wanted to check my Nvidia driver installation, and it shows me missing dependencies from the famous: linux-image-6.8.0-48-generic
For example, when I want to use the “nvidia-smi” command, it tells me to install the Nvidia utilities with the command “sudo apt install nvidia-utils-525”. At that point, I get the dependency problem.
For your information, here's my distribution with cat's command :
cat /etc/lsb-release
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=24.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=noble
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS”
Can you please help me?
have nice day.
