Akhenaten is a strategic city-building game, based on assets and gameplay mechanics from Pharaoh + Cleopatra title, where players take on the role of a ruler and mayor of ancient Egyptian civilization. Original game was Developed by Impressions Games and released in 1999, Pharaoh offers a rich and immersive experience as players navigate the challenges of building and managing a thriving civilization along the banks of the Nile River. Here we try to restore original engine and mechanics, oversee various aspects of their civilization, including resource management, city planning, infrastructure development, and the welfare of their citizens, and more.

We don't usually let new forum users post links to stuff, but I make an exception for those who are providing Linux software. I'm assuming that you're affiliated with this software in some way. It's usually a good idea to disclose that.

Anyhow, like always, the software supplied in this thread has not been evaluated by staff.

I am the author and maintainer of this project. It has now reached a level where it can be showcased to others. You only need the original data files from the old game to run it on modern hardware. If you have any questions, feel free to ask—this is an open project.

Good open source games are rare so it's great to have one more, and remakes often play better than originals due to continued development, I hope you don't abandon it too soon.

If so, we could add that to the thread as a resource. Maybe it's at archive.org? They have a lot of old game disk images.

Keep in mind that I'm not a gamer and have done zero testing.

This might contain the needed files - and it's 'acceptable' as it's at archive.org, which is recognized as an internet library of the LoC in the US.

The Archive is a valuable resource and it's good to see them back online after the attacks. They provide a valuable public service and are recognized for such. I think the theory is that you'd only download these files if you had at some time paid for them. From what I can see, it's 'abandonware' - which doesn't actually negate any of the owner's rights (in US legal terms).

But, I think those are the files. If not, someone can correct me. My searching of the site also showed a couple of other possible choices.
