Opening a video file with VLC opens two seprate windwos(screenshot included)

I use vlc exclusively, and encounter no problems at all.
3.0.16 Vetinari
I'm using 3.0.18 on Fedora 37, but I've never actually noticed it before since I rarely turned on visualizations in the past.

I have to be honest....I have no idea what visualizations are or where they are !

Tools: preferences>audio:visualizations

It seems to be in both locations, where you mention it and where I mentioned. However for it to work where I mentioned it is you have to be playing a track or video.

Got it !.....I used to see that effect on windows media player, I think

I can vouch for another:
Code:
[flip@flop ~]$ apt policy vlc
vlc:
  Installed: 3.0.18-2
  Candidate: 3.0.18-2
  Version table:
 *** 3.0.18-2 500
        500 http://ftp.au.debian.org/debian bookworm/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Works flawlessly.
