printer problems (error message = processing - not connected?)

hi all,

could really use your help as i need to print 1 page today. i've been dealing with this for the last 2 days

the hp deskjet 1000 printer light just keeps blinking (users guide is useless as it only provides troubleshooting for windows)

heres what i tried and nothing worked;
plugging in printer to different ports on the computer
unplugged printer for 24hours

for some reason linux doesn't think theres a printer there;

I also have this type of problem from time to time

Try clicking on the printer icon down in the system tray (near the clock) and see if it has any choices of different printers there that you can click on.
Mine has 'generic cups printer'....then 'hp envy 6000 series'......then 'hp envy 6000 series_97ab69'

If I click on the middle one ....it works !...all the others fail/stall
