setenv is supported by csh, you're probably still using bash (which uses export). So switch to csh (to be clear I've no idea what you're trying to do or why you want to use csh)

If you used the sources.list I posted you should have the "universe" repo.

Installing the csh deb package does not resolve resolve the underlying problem: why can't you install csh from the repos. As you have not posted full outputs of commands or provided enough feedback, it's going to be difficult for anyone to help you out.

To me, your ifconfig output looks strange. How are you connected to the web? I don't know enough about IPv6 to know why you have all of those addresses listed. Why are you connecting directly to a WAN address located in the US?

If this command still shows nothing as it did before

$ apt-cache policy

Then you won't be able to install anything from the repositories.

Also can you post the full output of

I have a hard job believing that what you posted above is full the output of 'apt-get update'. Your apt-cache policy shows many other repos.

If you're struggling copying and pasting files then you are going to find difficult times ahead...

You may find it simpler to do

$ apt-get -s update > ~/apt_get_update

This will create a simple text file containing the output which you can then attach or upload somewhere.
