Raspberry Pi - File access for SFTP server

Hello, I am pretty new to linux, so I don't know much, but I just set up my first SFTP server a few days ago on a raspberry pi. I notice that when I connect to the server, it lists a ton of files that I don't need, or that I don't want people to be able to access. I was wondering if there was a way to make only certain people be allowed to see certain files, (and do any thing with them) and to block other users from even knowing they exist. I am planning to have it be a cloud server for multiple people, but I don't want people to be able to edit other's files, only their own.
