Rock Roxx

"Simply The Best" was written by Holly Knight and Mike Chapman was first aired by Bonnie Tyler in 1988, but had more success for Tina Turner in 1989.

In 1992, Tina was flown to Australia to record it as a duet with our own Jimmy Barnes (Cold Chisel) and used by the New South Wales Rugby League as a (hugely successful) promotion for League.

In 1993, Tina opened the Grand Final with it.

I have included all three here, so tell us which one you think is "Simply The Best"

Bonnie Tyler

and Tina and Jimmy

and finally, the Grand Final

Def No.3 ....The Grand Final
Tina was 'in the moment'....huge crowd who all loved her....... definitely her scene !....and it showed in the vocals.

Lol, you mad League fan, you - I might have guessed.

Yeah it's pretty impressive when 42,239 other fans are singing your song.

Should I remind you the Broncos won 10 - 0 over The Saints that year?

Let's have some Status Quo to maintain ... the status quo

Sherbet was an iconic band in Oz in the 70s, here's Howzat!

Not exactly rock....but good music all the same.

best enjoyed with eyes closed...

That's a lovely piece - I think I recognise it (amazing)

I'm just going to be the first one kicked from an off-topic thread for posting an off-topic post, by posting a synthwave masterpiece here. History, behold! Songs will be sung

Hang 'Em All? Nah, Gabe, we eliminated hanging in Oz after 3 Feb 1967 hanging of Ronald Ryan (I heard the news on the wireless (radio)).

For me, this piece heralded the start of synthwave-type music.

On Lewis Capaldi - I love his music, but I hate all his swearing.

He was on Aussie show The Project a month or so ago, and I ended up turning the channel.

There is talk now that he may have Tourette's Syndrome.

If you Google

the project lewis capaldi

you'll get the picture, he also had problems at Glastonbury two days ago.

yeah....I watched that.....I'll stick to his music.
