Rock Roxx

You will find that with a lot of singers/songwriters, what is commercial and popular is not thought of as being one of their best works

Yup. I never achieved anything other than fairly local popularity and there are songs I despise playing - even a couple that I'll just not play. I'm old now. I can be picky if I want. I no longer need the money. LOL

LOL What are they?

There are a few but pretty much anything from Bon Jovi. I covered Bon Jovi so much in the 80s...

Also, Motley Crue... (I'm missing the punctuation.) Man, I can play every single instrument on some of their songs. I despise Home Sweet Home.

I covered a lot of 'top 40' during the 80s. Yes, yes I have covered WHAM!, Micheal Jackson, Madonna, etc... In my defense, I needed the money and it was less physical labor than lugging concrete forms in and out of foundation holes.

There have been a few points in my life where I made (most of, if not all at some points) my income through my musicianship. I did a lot of studio work as well. I was a session musician as another source of income.

My 3rd concert was in September 1974, as usual (at that time) at Brisbane's Festival Hall.

It featured the 3 elder brothers of a family that spent a number of years in Australia (close to where I lived), before they returned to the UK to rewrite the history books.

It was The Bee Gees.

30th August 1975 saw me attend my 4th concert. Sweet appeared at Festival Hall, Brisbane.

This marked the one and only occasion in my concert attendance history where I didn't just stand up for the entire concert, I didn't just stand on my seat - I stood on the arms of the chair for the entire 2 hours (gimme a break, I am only 5'9", lol)

don't tell anyone, but I Liked some Glam rock, this is my favourite from the Sweet

but then who could forget
and

I've put a love on them as I know them, but I have to go now, so will enjoy them all tomorrow. Nite.

My 3th concert was at Brisbane Festival Hall on 10 October 1975.

Status Quo

I was seated near the left speaker bank and had affected hearing for 3 days following. At the time (18 years old) I thought it was well worth it.

There's a bit starting at 2:07 in the clip above (and followed by several more), where guitarist Francis Rossi does his trademark flick of his hair.

I had hair longer than this then (and have it again now) and I used to do that and play air guitar to my friends.

Seemed cool at the time, lol.

What a blast back to the past when they still made good music
yep I agree, I stopped listing to pop music of the day in the early 1980's [there are a few exceptions] as it had already started going weird by then

My 6th concert may well have been my favourite.

It was November 1975 with the Wings Over Australia segment of the Wings Over The World Tour.

If you want to indulge yourself in, IIRC, nearly 3 hours of music, you can get what we heard here

https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/wings/1975/brisbane-festival-hall-brisbane-australia-23d7a047.html

I'll play one of the ones we did have, but also one from the Band On The Run album that did not make it to the concert.

First - Spirits of Ancient Egypt - vocal shared between Paul McCartney and Denny Laine

and the one that didn't make it but that I also like - "No-one Ever Left Alive (in 1985)"
