Hi All ~ I have been enjoying Linux Mint on my Lenovo. Today something came up on the Update, that I don't recognize. Does anyone know if it is safe to install (screenshot)?

You can assume that it's safe to install all updates, such as this one - especially through the update manager.

You can open a terminal to check this...

sudo apt update

That will tell you what updates are available.

If you want to upgrade in the terminal:

sudo apt upgrade -y

If you want to do this all blindly at once:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y

What @KGIII said above....Agreed.

It is safe to assume that all updates from Linux Mint are ok to install

if you are still apprehensive, take a Timeshift snapshot (if there is not one in place already)

I have already installed that update with no ill effects

Perhaps cautious or prudent rather than apprehensive.

Without knowledge or experience in such things, I don't know if it's possible for the Update Manager to be hacked. As there are so many scams and frauds elsewhere online, and because it looked strange to me, just wanted to check in. Thank you, both.
