Morning all,

We have shares going from a RedHat VM out to many customer windows boxes. We grab customers files from the shares in order to process on the Linux box.

Randomly but all too often these shares are not accessible. Not all of them at once and not always the same ones each time. Thing is, just restarting the samba service is not enough. This does not restore the connection, the box needs to be restarted in order to restore connection.

Doesn't seem to matter if file is coming over (timeout) or the connection is idle (deadtime)

This to me points to something outside of Samba being the issue and the issue is manifesting as a Samba one.

Anyone else have anything similar or have any pointers that may be of help?
