Minimalistic is not the approach, it's more "functional" that I want. Aside from the color of the titlebars and root-display my fvwm desktop has not changed in....15 years or so. Fvwm does what I expect it to do, display my windows and then get the hell out of my way. I don't need a big/gaudy toolbar to do what a mouse-click menu can do, all sorts of gadgets on the desktop showing this-and-thats. I'm not here to show off to whomever might look over my should, I just want to get done what I need to get done and then get back to what I love doing the most - being outdoors. But I live in Hawai'i, where 'outdoors' offers plenty.I've heard of minimalistic desktops but this is just too far...
From time to time I do 'spice things up a bit', as can be seen in the attached screenshot from my Debian computer. But still, the concept is the same.
