Software & Updates: Security Updates Setting is Blank

I've been using Canonical's Ubuntu for 4-5 years after ditching Windows & trying out distros that have Ubuntu in it (Ubuntu Cinnamon & Linuxfx for examples). When I came across Linux Mint, I did a comparison of Lasting Support & found out that Ubuntu's updates support last longer then Linux Mint does.

Hmm Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and Linux Mint 20 have support until 2025.

Official Ubuntu flavors only offer 3 years support Kubuntu / Xubuntu / Lubuntu.

I've just seen that. Do you know if Linux Mints Notification Applet Notifies you of updates?

I know when Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS has updates it splashes an update window on the desktop letting the user know updates are available.

Can't say what Linux mint 20 does but I'm sure that it does let you know.

I do remember that Linux Mint 17.x series had a blue dot appear in the updates manager shield in the lower right hand corner of the panel of the desktop.
