And if it comes to getting a new webcam - as long as it is UVC compatible - it should work under Linux.

I recently got myself a Logitech c922 pro-stream web cam. Which has built in microphones. It works flawlessly for me in Debian 10 for live-streaming, video chat and photo applications. So I can definitely recommend one of those!
Hi, JasKinasis

I have the C922 Pro here too, but it does not work well with my ubuntu21.04

sometimes it could be recognized by the os, but for most time it could not be recognized with message in dmesg like this, not sure if you have any idea what's the problem there.
I suspect that the webcam needs more power to start, and my laptop or the usb hub could not supply that much.
but I don't know how to confirm that, and when I use it with one usb hub with external power cable plugged in, it could not work stably too.

the MaxPower is 500mA from the output of the "lsusb -v" command when it works

The following is the dmesg log for reference:

Your device HAS correctly been recognised. And it should work.
The log shows that guvcview crashed for some reason. And after the crash the device was unable to be enumerated. I honestly don't know if it's the camera that is faulty, or perhaps your USB hub/port is damaged in some way. IDK!

I use mine with the USB 3 ports on my laptop and it works flawlessly with Debian 10.

Not sure why you've hijacked this thread. You should probably have created your own thread for this as it is a completely separate issue.

Sorry, I was redirected by the google search result and found you talked about the c922 pro webcam here, so replied here to see if you have any idea about my problem.

Thanks very much, JasKinasis! You reminded me, and I took that webcam to the technique support center today, it's a faulty one, they could not have it work neither.
With the new one they gave me, it works as expected now.

Thanks again for your kind reply!
