Splintered Thread from___Drive Failure Imminent_"Last Option"

Morning all, at page 14.

Sherri when you get time, can you tell me the model of Last Option?

I know it is a Lenovo Ideapad S145 - what is the rest.

A hardware maintenance manual may reveal about the screws, they may be a TorX.

EDITED - Just noticed Stan mentioned torx as well.

Cheers

BTW folks, I mentioned the odd drive size reported, at page 5
Yeah, my bad for jumping in the middle (again)! Sorry! :oops:o_O

Heppy to use either of my Lenovo laptops for testing comparison, if you want, Chris. One of mine is an IdeaPad Slim model (from 2020) which may be similar. My other is a Yoga 2 Pro (from 2013).

Love is never having to say you are sorry, Stan (bats eyelids like Ali McGraw, fails miserably to look attractive).

Off now.

Oh ye of little faith (except for Brian) - seen both movies. Streisand was from 1972's "What's Up, Doc?" (also with Ryan O'Neal) and that scene was spoofing Love Story, down to the eyelids batting.

I did, however make a small error - "Love is" should be "Love means".

.... Chris is going to turn ME into a toad!

Actually, I am quite partial to salamanders currently.

Now, back on track and returning The Viewers to their usual programming.

Personally, I'm not worried about it. If it's already been suggested or if I've already done it, I'll tell you. IMO, ideas bouncing around can trigger other ideas that might lead to a solution.

Thanks. The last couple of commands would not have worked anyway, they are not the correct syntax.

However, given parted does not see the Last Option drive, then I'll scratch any thoughts of using it.

Does it still show with

Code:
sudo gdisk /dev/sdb

Just a yes or no is OK.

I have to reboot into another distro and I will be back as soon as I can.

@wizardfromoz

In case it would be useful, I took these pictures of my screen last night. When Last option froze up last night, I pressed Ctrl +Alt+F3. I got a blank screen so I tried another combo hoping to get back to the desktop. Ctrl+Alt+F8. I got these errors

I also saw this. Just ignore the one with the screw thingy.

Yeah, I saw the blue one - MOK is Machine Owner Key.

OK, let me digest the gdisk output.

If you want to get going on the CMOS battery your tonight or tomorrow, good luck and maybe report back when it's been reseated.

I may be offline for some time, computer issues I have to address.
