I have two rigs running mint 20 on the same wireless network. One is morning office, one evening office. (long story and not really relevant)

One has evolution mail that I am using only for calendar and contact function at this time.

I would like to load evolution on the other computer and be able to sync the calendar and possibly the contacts between computers.

Is this possible on a home wireless network ?

Any suggested reading material to that end ?

Any clues for an ignoramus are appreciated.

If your email client supports it, CalDAV is a potential solution. You just sync to a local server. I haven't done it, but that's the direction I'd look first.

As @KGIII already mentioned CalDAV and CardDAV are an option, I have nextcloud setup on my vps which is hosted remotely and all my contacts and adress book are stored there and from there I am able to sync them to my phone my Thunderbird on my desktop and other devices if I want.
