I just installed kernel 5.4.35 to slackware live current ; upgrading and watching packages install -some i didn't even know they were there : https://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/
things i didn't even know slackware had

it was going well then ran out of space on usb stick.
I've gone for 14 gig stick and https://bear.alienbase.nl/mirrors/slackware-live/latest/slackware64-live-current.iso it has 5.4.20 kernel but i like it since it works with https://dslackw.gitlab.io/slpkg/ which gives choices on easy pkg search , install with deps
To get persistence used Alein Bobs iso2usb.sh script . So basically i can upgrade os and packages because it has persistence. If its just a case of wanting to boot an install iso from a usb or play with an iso then ventoy is favorite
