The holiday is celebrating Mexico's victory over the French at some battle or another. I'm forgetful and Google is so very far away...

If you celebrate, enjoy your festivities! There should be dancing, song, and parades - and almost everybody loves a parade.

ProTip: If you drive really slowly, you can make your own parade!

Alas, I have yet to imbibe in any cheer. The missus is out with a friend and they'll bring back some fairly delicious Mexican beer - assuming they can find it. Worst case, it should be available in Farmington, at Ron's Market (across from the fair grounds) where they have an astonishing variety of beer, wine, and liquor. For a store in Maine, especially that size, it's amazing.
