Hi everyone, I have made a huge mistake by resetting my phone without checking if I had already wrote some of my passwords somewhere else; knowing it is hard to recover data after formatting, I searched the internet to find a solution - and usually those apps on PS don't work. I found out about just dumping your storage as a .img to a pc thru adb (android 10, used adb pull, TWRP recovery and I have root access) and then I analyzed it with testdisk, but as I expected, the file was already unrecoverable. I am no expert, but maybe I can do something to recover it because it was a relatively simple file (.txt). Does anyone know?

Update

I recovered them using a hexadecimal editor to view the ascii text of my physical sd card image file (dumped with testdisk). I searched for a keyword I knew was in the file (otherwise you would have to check the entire file and that's not possible); and although the file wasn't listed at all within testdisk, it was still there as raw data (txt files don't have particular encoding I guess).
Having formatted your phone in these cases isn't good, infact no such data survived.
I don't know if this can be helpful to someone, but hopefully this could be an option, just in case.
Thanks for the answers and cheers

If you reset your phone and didn't back up the file or your device then you can't recover it.

Use a password manager to store all your password, either an online or offline password manager.

Exactly as @f33dm3bits said......then all you need to remember is the password for the password manager

Make it a good one !

A phrase like:

I take Our dog for a walk each and every day (use the first letter from each word)

ItOd4aWe&eD

All you have to remember is the phrase.

Practise it a few times....and you will remember it forever.

Testdisk was your best shot. You can (usually) recover passwords at the site or in the app. It's a bit tedious/laborious, but it's also your best shot.
