Hello I am hoping someone can assist with an issue authenticating to an ad server. I am using realmd via this article https://www.server-world.info/en/note?os=Ubuntu_18.04&p=realmd and used some config options from https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/sssd-ad.html.en

I can authenticate to ad from the Ubuntu device but if I try to ssh to it and use a domain user it wont authenticate. if I log in with just the user name it just exits. If i use the domain\user it keeps asking for the password.

If I am on the device and I use su - ADUSER it does not prompt for a password it just goes to ADUSER@Ubuntu: prompt. Not sure what to do from here.

1 issue I know is going on is we have several AD servers and it tried to authenticate to ones that is cannot reach sometimes. how do you specify an AD server by either name or IP?

G'day @quarinteen :)

Have a look at our Server section

https://www.linux.org/forums/#server-linux.164

... if you think one of those areas suits your query better, let me know and I can move this one, or reproduce your #1 Post in a new Thread there, and sing out "Hey, Wiz" and I'll delete this one.

Good luck

(dunce when it comes to servers, pretty good at multi-multi-multi-booting) :D
