Unusual problems during install (faulty memory)

Recently I tried (for two days) to install Linux on a system that previously worked without a problem...
I actually tested my memory but cancelled out after 3% or 4% ... big mistake...

Please test your memory if you get the following...

1) Reports that the file being copied form cd/dvd to hard-drive are not the same/do not match...
You might normally assumed your media is damaged but memory plays it part too...

2) Processes taking longer than you might expect...
As a rule of thumb the install takes about 30 minutes or so (depending on your PC), so if you see no activity other than the working icon still rotating...

3) Unusual graphics problems...
A variety of problems from desktop going blank to no updates or missing icons...

Strangely enough different problem manifest depending of the distro and in most cases the very same problems persist the next time you try to install... Two distros actually installed successfully, however after reboot... it doesn't go smoothly...

Save yourself hours and avoid headaches... test your memory and don't cancel until it's finished...
