What version of LInux Mint/IDE would be best on a Dell Latitude D630?

I am fairly new to Linux and want to resurrect old Dell D630 laptop with Linux.

I tried Mint before (I think 17.0) and it was fine but now/soon to be out of support. So what alternatives are there?

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Linux Mint 17.0 reached EOL 2019 and no longer supported.

Please post system specs.
Processor / graphics adapter / amount of memory.

If Linux Mint worked for you then download and install Linux Mint 20.

thank you. It is 8gb hdd, 4GB ram. I just installed 19.2 Linux Mate. Still playing around with it. Does seem a bit slow. I will check graphics cards.

Only 8gb hdd.

Hmm there could be a bottleneck in itself.
Linux Mint will use half of that just for the install and updates.

I (and others) have noticed, of late, problems with Firefox if I go beyond this kernel.

Are you running the HWE Kernel? I am running the non-HWE 5.8.0-36 Canonical Kernel and have no problems with Firefox - sometimes those HWE Kernels get a bit glitchy for my liking.
