Where Should I Post My Proposal for New OS Features?

I thought of a collection of new features for computer operating systems to greatly improve user performance & experience. I present the features in an online Google Docs document.

I want to give the world rights to freely make my features for operating systems, but I want to be acknowledged as the original creator of the features. I hope that people will network with me because I conceived the features, & that being acknowledged as the features' creator will help me get a job.

Where should I post the link to my presentation of the new operating system features, please? Thanks!

Everyone here is a volunteer, so you are not likely to find any job offers from us. Although linux.org is a very prominent domain name, it has no relationship to Linus Torvalds, the Linux kernel, the Linux Foundation, or any particular Linux distribution.

If you want to get credit for your ideas, you should actually write the code to make them a reality. If you create a standalone application, try to get it accepted into the repositories of one or more distributions. If your ideas are to enhance someone else's work, you can submit patches or pull requests to their GitHub sites. Good luck.

To add to the above, ideas for features are not copyrighted, patented, or trademarked. Nor can they be trademarked, patented, or copyrighted. (You'll need a working model for modern patents.) Frankly, we all have grandiose ideas for improvements to operating systems. If you want to act on them, it's not sharing the ideas that helps, it's sitting down and writing the code that helps.

By the way... To even begin patenting such, I'd suggest a patent lawyer - even with a working model. Getting a patent can be quite a burden and there are specialists for good reason.

Source: Me. I have had numerous patents. When I sold my business, I also sold my intellectual property. Thus the past tense.

Besides filing bug reports, the GitHub sites for many apps and/or distros will also let you submit "feature requests" or "wishlist" items. If your ideas are applicable to them, they may take them up and use them. But you will not get any credit as a developer unless you write the code too. Writing good code will help you build a reputation and find a job in the software industry, if that is your goal.

So, I am not interested in your proposals, but I wish you good luck.
