Hello, I'm a Windows user but I wanna learn how to use Linux. I don't know nothing about this OS and I would like to know which distribution should I install.
These are the specifications of my laptop. Thanks for your help.

Hi @Albanto and welcome to the forum. What do you usually do on your computer? Are you a programmer? A hard core gamer? Just the average user like most of us who do regular stuff such as surfing the web, listening to music, reading pdfs, ebooks, watching videos, etc, etc? You see, depending on your use case, different options may apply. I personally recommend for a new Linux user something like Linux Lite https://www.linuxliteos.com/download.php pretty good distro preloaded with unique tools to make yor computing experience trouble free. Another one is Q4OS https://www.q4os.org/index.html based on Debian, fast, stable and friendly on resources, plus the desktops, KDE and TDE are pretty familiar for windows users like yourself. There are many more options, you could visit http://distrowatch.com/ and have a look as well as in here https://distrochooser.de/es/ download a few that caught your attention, burn them to a USB, try them a bit and after that installing the one you like the best. You could try them in virtualbox too https://www.virtualbox.org/ by creating a virtual machine before installing anything on your real pc.

Saludos! :)

You have a good machine, and what Tolkem has recommended is also good. We all have opinions on which Linux to distro to start with, but today I'm not going to participate in a distro war ;) So download the two that Tolkem recommended, they both (I believe) have a try before installing option. So try them, install what looks good to you, and use it.

There may come a day when you get curious about other distros, and by that time you should be pretty familiar with Linux. So later you can try others.

I've tried a LOT of different Linux and BSD versions and my choice is now Kubuntu. But I got there after a long journey.

So get started, right now!!

+1 LinuxLite
-1 virtual machine, initially
