I am using Linux ubuntu for the first time and can not connect to the wireless network. I can use the internet with an ethernet cable but whenever I am using without it can not use the wireless network, airplane mode is also on and I can not off it
@Bwiz It has all the system information, Please look at the screenshots. I have distribution ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS and with inix -N command it is saying
Command 'inxi' not found, but can be installed with:
your screen shots do not show any information on make /type of wi-fi it has, and being a toshiba [I suspect around 2010/2012 vintage the toshiba spec doesn't tell us,
have you installed inxi [you may need to either make a connection by use of cable to the router or by tethering a mobile]
If indeed it's hard blocked it will depend on the Machine how you turn it on. On my laptop its the F8 key on some machines there is a physical switch that turns it on and off. If you machine has a realtek wifi card it will require you install some additional drivers for it to work and the easiest way to do that would be to connect via Ethernet or tether a mobile phone to it. Also in ubuntu you have to install inxi it's not there by default. What is the make and model of the machine?
I'll add that this information is likely in the manual - how to turn on and off wireless with the hardware. Once in a while, it's even a manual switch on the side - though I've not seen that for a while.
