Is it possible to play Wizard101 on Linux? I already know about the Wine Program, just thought I'd ask anyway.:)

Steam is available in Linux's software manager. Perhaps wizard101 is available inside steam ?

I already tried that way but that game only seems to work on Windows.

I am running linux mint 18.3
click on menu
then software manager
install Steam
search in Linux games

the result......

you have to open a steam account etc during the process of installing Steam

I dont play games....so you will have to figure the rest out.

Is there a possibility to play this game on Linux or do I have to have Windows to play it?

:):D

Now that's interesting! Thanks for the link, @arochester :)

Featured in the list is Wolfenstein3D, which 20 years ago, I used to enjoy.

It was produced by Manaccom Pty Ltd, who were headquartered in the suburb of Milton, Brisbane - my home town in southeast Qld, Australia.

You can read about them here https://www.mobygames.com/company/manaccom-pty-ltd

... and I used to play DukeNukem and Doom as well.

Aahh, a blast from the past :);)

The Wizard 101 game works great from PlayonLinux but when I have it installed, my background app indicators like Chrome, Hangouts, & Firefox won't show when log on or reboot my PC nor Alarm Clock won't show either. But when I have the game removed they all work fine.

It plays on my older Gateway. I use wine but not steam. Runs fine.
env WINEPREFIX="/home/trespidian/.wine" wine C:\\windows\\command\\start.exe /Unix /home/trespidian/.wine/dosdevices/c:/users/Public/Desktop/Play\ Wizard101.lnk
Thats on Linux Mint Mate with wine installed.

If you install the steam version you must have started with the steam version. If you made your account using the website you will not be able to play using the steam version.

There's been no activity in this thread for three years. I kinda doubt anyone's paying attention these days.
