I think it would work, but I just would like to ask if It's possible to install Ubuntu on my 2010 MB Pro, 13 inch, 1 TB SSD, Intel core 2 duo processor., 8 GB RAM.

Has anyone ever done this?

I have EOS 8 on my Dell, and I want to install Ubuntu on my 2010 iMac as well. That machine shouldn't be a problem at all.

Any perspective/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, folks have done that before.

The difference is that you'll still burn the .iso to USB but you'll hold down the Option button while booting and you can select the USB device at that point. (Obviously, you'll have to put the USB thumbdrive in before booting.)

If you have NVidia hardware in there, you may need something called 'nomodeset' in your GRUB configuration. You can find that information easily enough, so I don't feel compelled to detail it here.

It's quite old, I would be inclined to go for something lighter, suggestions would include, Elementary OS,, Mint LMDE [not Mint 22] Lubuntu

Brian, he already has EOS on the Dell, he may want different on the iMac.

I did see that Chris, but I personally feel it's one of the best on a 15-year-old Mac my personal preference on an old Dell with the E or T series Pentium or the early I3 cpu's would have been LMDE, Lubuntu, Linux Lite, Debian stable and/or similar
