I just wanted to leave a positive comment about the Linux Mint developers on github. I've always found the Launchpad process for Ubuntu to be kinda intimidating and strange (just due to the complexity of the website, mostly), but with linux mint, you can just report bugs under "issues" in the github repository:

I was having an issue with the updater, and getting error messages along the lines of "trying to get content from some IP address that doesn't exist". So, this morning, I realized it must be a bug since everything else was working properly and left the report on the above page. None of the "turn it off and on again" type of solutions were working. However, later in the day I leave my house, I get back home, find my topic was closed, find an update to the updater and the issue is now gone! Everything fixed...

People usually talk about these things as if you can't expect to fix them quickly without forking over some cash, but I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth this bug correction was. I also wouldn't expect bugs on Mint to always be fixed so quickly, as this was probably a higher-level error. Also, github isn't for everyone, it's designed for people with an interest in software development (even though you can make an account for bug reports alone, no one will stop you)

When a new version of Mint comes out it does sometimes have bugs which are fixed in time...that's why I always wait a few months and I always do a clean install.

When Mint Cinnamon 21.1 first came out and after a few months...I couldn't get Virtualbox 7 to work especially with Flash Drives.

I had to go back to Virtualbox 6 but when I tried Virtualbox 7 about 6 mths later...it worked just fine...lesson learnt.
