Zorin OS 17 Core - Cannot Boot - System Message

Thank you for your response. You said "A more easy way is to tell Zorin to check the filesystem on next boot. You can do this by touching /forcefsck - enter command ''sudo touch /forcefsck''.
Is the next boot at the selection for Maintenance command line?

Please advise further.

Attempted the command (based on what I understood you said - i could be way of the mark).
No details generated.

It looks like it worked for /dev/sda1, but not /dev/sda2
You can exit and see if that fixed it, otherwise @GatorsFan and @CaffeineAddict are right, you will need a live USB to boot from.

I have a back up of Zorin OS on a USB. I used RescueZilla to create it. I have RescueZilla on another USB.
Is this the way to go? If it is an option. Is there any special process I should follow?

I am running Ubuntu 20.04 on an embedded device. I will like to ask how to force automatic fsck on bootup? In older Ubuntu versions, this can be achieved by editing the /etc/default/rcS and setting
